Genoa Starrs
Genoa Starrs is a GIS Programmer with UC ANR’s Informatics and GIS Statewide Program. She holds a Master’s in Forestry from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a Certified Rangeland Manager, and performs spatial analysis, data wrangling, and mapping in R, Python, and ArcGIS. She uses GIS and data science methods to address interdisciplinary questions emerging from socio-ecological systems, particularly relating to wildfire and natural resources management.
Genoa has previously worked for the National Tropical Botanical Garden, Hawaii Association of Conservation Districts, and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. With plenty of fieldwork experience, she now loves finding (or making) the right tool for the job and telling stories through data that help support sustainable natural resources management and conservation.
